Cave Creek Museum -- From horse soldiers to resort developments-- the desert foothills have been a spectacle of historic and prehistoric dimensions. Set in the shadow of looming Black Mountain, the Museum offers a view to the past. Thousands of years ago, Hohokam farmers dug 2,000 miles of irrigation canals to water their crops. Tools, pottery, jewelry, and other artifacts in the Museum collection give insight into these productive, innovative people.

In the late 1800s, people returned again to farm, ranch and prospect for gold, silver, copper, jasper and other mineral riches. See the implements, home goods and special exhibits describing the lives and experiences of our most recent predecessors.

The first church of Cave Creek and the last tubercular cabin in the state, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the Golden Reef Stamp Mill are among the outside exhibits. Cave Creek Museum Docents share anecdotes and additional information to enrich the extensive exhibits and your experience---or enjoy the Museum on your own. The spectacular history of the Desert Foothills is yours to see and enjoy at the Cave Creek Museum. Desert Awareness Committee has been the community resource advocate for the Sonoran Desert since 1974. Our mission is to educate residents and visitors so that they may join us in understanding, conserving and preserving our fragile desert, its plants and animals, its water and wildlife. Our Desert Reach fourth grade program--providing hands-on desert ecology experiences is supplemented by our latest publication Chloe and the Desert Heroes. Our desert edibles and medicinal seminars for the public at large explain how to harvest, prepare and use desert plants. The library is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit and is funded by donations from the community and income from activities in the library such as the Chapter2 book store and our passport acceptance office. Chapter2 is the largest used book store north of the 101 freeway. Our passport office processes over 1,600 applications annually. Education & Community Services (ECS) provides well rounded programs and extra-curricular offerings for students of all ages, parents and community members throughout the year. We encourage everyone to pursue and develop their interests, try something new and be engaged with the community around them. Our Preschool, Kid’s Club, Enrichment and A.W.A.R.E. Parents and Prevention programs create opportunities and solutions for the variety of needs of a growing family and engaged community members.

The Child’s Play Preschool offers four locations in the Cave Creek/North Scottsdale/North Phoenix area. Each provides a variety of programs including World Language, ABC Music and Me, Character Counts, STEM, Get Ready to Read, and Love and Logic®. The Kid’s Club program offers before and after care for elementary age students at all five CCUSD elementary sites. Summer, Spring Break and Winter Break Camps are also available. Enrichment programs are available all year round for children ages three to adults. The topics of Enrichment range from art, sports, theater, academics, etc. Workshops and forums on trending, relevant topics such as social media awareness, drug trends, character education and transition forms for Elementary to Middle School and Middle to High School are made available to parents and community members through the A.W.A.R.E. Parents and Prevention.

ECS is a division of Cave Creek Unified School District and was established in 1974 with a grant from the Mott Foundation. ECS takes pride in providing lifelong learning and quality programs for youth through adults, with an emphasis on programs for school age children.

The Black Mountain campus is a satellite site of PVCC located on 60th Street, just south of Carefree Highway, in the northern part of Maricopa County. With the addition of our new Science building, Aquila Hall, students can take all of the coursework necessary to earn an AA or AS degree on site. The Sonoran Arts League is a non-profit, volunteer-based, arts service organization dedicated to actively advancing art, artists and art education. Comprised of more than 700 artists/art enthusiasts, the League presents exceptional programs for people of all ages, experience and interests. 
 
Over 700 members actively participate in community outreach programs, youth mentoring and art education, as well as free veteran art classes. The League produces several events, such as the annual Hidden in The Hills Artist Studio Tour, Sonoran Small Works Art Show, Sonoran Festival of Art, April for the Arts, Holiday Artisan Markets at Gallery at el Pedregal and also partners with the Foothills Food Bank on the annual Empty Bowls Project. 
With a special focus on mentoring youth, the League fosters artistic growth in the following ways: Youth art and scholarships, Incentive awards, Art experiences and resources, and the Foothills Art Academy (partnering with ECS, a division of CCUSD).
The League teams with The Boulders Resort to bring the public an exceptional collection of artwork, art workshops, artists-in-residence, and art events – all in one beautiful place, “The Gallery at el Pedregal”.  The Gallery offers a rotating collection of one-of-a-kind juried works by League artists, art workshops, artists-in-residence, youth art and veteran exhibits, and other art events throughout the year.
